This project will widen, retrofit and rehabilitate the Bear Valley Road Overhead Bridge at the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Railroad crossing. The bridge will be widened to accommodate the construction of 6-foot wide sidewalks, 8-foot wide shoulders, and a 12-foot wide median. Retrofitting the bridge will involve seismic retrofits and construction of crash walls. Additional improvements include widening the roadway approaches, modifying the traffic signals and increasing the left-turn vehicle capacity at the Ridgecrest Road intersection.
