Spring 2012
Winter has come and gone and it feels like Spring in February. With a healther backlog and additional jobs in the pipeline for 2012, the opportunity is finally presenting itself after more than three years of waiting. With very little state or federal funding available, local agencies have had to lean more on their own wallet to get projects out to bid. It was good news to hear that Anne Mayer at RCTC secured a 20 million TIGER TIFIA GRANT from the Federal Government for the 1.3 billion dollar 91 freeway corridor project. The grant will leverage part of the remaining one-third of the project cost of approximately 1.35 billion dollars. Riverside Construction is part of Kiewit's prequalified team to bid on the project sometime within the year.
Riverside Construction was recently awarded the Nisqualli/La Mesa Interchange Project on the 15 freeway in Victorville by SANBAG. We are also the low bidder on the Van Buren/215 Interchange for the County of Riverside. Along with jobs at Cal State Northridge, Crafton Hill College, and City of Hesperia, to name a few, insure the continued success of our Company and Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). The ESOP was put into place in 1975 to let the company share its success with its employees. One of our employees, Shelby Mongeon, will be retiring this year after 47 years of service to Riverside Construction. With hundreds of millions of dollars worth of work on his resumé, Riverside Construction and ESOP are grateful to have had Shelby to share in its success over the years.
