Fall 2010

As we enter the fourth quarter of 2010 results of the previous nine months are setting in. Profit margins are very low, if they exist at all and the acquisition of new work has been a struggle to say the least.

Most of the Obama’s “Recovery and Reinvestment Act” monies have hit the highways in the Inland Empire and construction is well under way.

The Riverside County Transportation Commission’s (RCTC) Measure “K”, which will go to the voters in November is a great move by Anne Mayer (RCTC’s Executive Director) to help get more work out to bid sooner which will stimulate local economy while taking advantage of the lower priced market in the construction industry.

RCTC plans to spend approximately 700 million to 1.1 billion to widen the 91 freeway through Corona. Other RCTC projects include the 215 freeway from Temecula north to Perris, Perris Valley Railway, 60/215 Interchange, and the 91 freeway widening through the City of Riverside to name a few. Riverside Construction strongly supports the County of Riverside’s Measure “K” and urges you to vote YES as well in November.

Riverside Construction took advantage of the soft real estate market this year by moving its headquarters around the corner to a larger building. The new digs, about 26,000 square feet will take Riverside Construction well into the next generation of employee owners. Our new address is 4225 Garner Rd.,Riverside Ca.,92501.

Our most recent job award was Ironwood Street and Storm Drain Improvements for the City of Moreno Valley. We have an additional 9 million dollars worth of work on which we are the apparent low bidder and are awaiting award. That’s good news!

A few that are in progress are as follows:

 Current Projects Agency Status
IRONWOOD AVENUE STREET & STORM DRAIN IMPROV. CITY OF MORENO VALLEY N.T.P 10-4-10
IRONWOOD AVENUE DAY TO BARCLAY STREET CITY OF MORENO VALLEY LOW BIDDER

With our current backlog, we feel confident that we can maintain our growth and productivity. In these unfamiliar economic times, we must maintain our competitive edge by keeping in mind that we are a 100% employee owned company. The past contributions, as well as future, are solely based on how efficient we are as a whole. The quality of work and professionalism of our employees will provide that valued edge over competitors for years to come.

Continue to check back often for updates, good luck to all, and be safe!
